Virtual camp meetings in a time of social distancing

As Camp Directors, social distancing is hard for us as we spend our lives trying to build a sense of connection and community. That said, we hope that everyone is following their state guidelines for staying at home as much as possible. The more social distancing we do today, the more likely it is that our campers will get to spend another great summer at CWW!

We recognize that social distancing will prove challenging for many members of our CWW community, too.  The desire to hang out with friends, get together in groups, and seek physical contact is hard-wired into our DNA. So, to provide our Walt Whitman community with a sense of normalcy and connection during this disruptive time, for the next two weeks (and likely longer) we are going to have regular Zoom calls. It won’t replace face-to-face meetings, but it will keep our spirits high.

Here is the current schedule:

  • Last summer’s Middle Campers (and new 11 and 12 year-olds): Going forward, the Goodnight Song calls will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays only at 8:00 PM EST.  The link for the call is,

We would love to connect our community and have each camper join us, but of course, this is totally optional.

We hope you and your family stay safe, healthy, and positive!
