Spectacular Setting

Close your eyes and imagine what a summer camp should look like. Now imagine one a little more jaw-dropping. At the end of a dirt road, on a crystal-clear lake called Lake Armington, one of the quietest and most beautiful in New Hampshire. Surrounded by the majestic White Mountains on all sides, within a forest of birch, maple and pine. It feels as though Camp Walt Whitman has been here as long as there’s been a place called Piermont, New Hampshire.

The only clue that you haven’t stepped back in time is our state-of-the-art facilities. On our 300 acres you’ll find a heated pool, an indoor sports pavillion, a ropes course, a gymnastics building, three art studios, a technology tent and our rustic modern cabins.

Our surroundings play an important role in making Camp Walt Whitman a magical place for kids. Campers take full advantage of the natural beauty around them to hike, swim, camp, explore, and develop a sense of responsibility for this awe-inspiring setting.

We are both removed from the noise and screens of home, yet within easy driving distance of New York and Boston.
