Waterskiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding are some of the most popular programs at Camp Walt Whitman every summer. As a wakesports instructor, you will be spending your days on a beautiful New Hampshire lake teaching and demonstrating the fundamentals as well as other tricks of skiing, wakeboarding and kneeboarding. Our instructors must also have experience as boat drivers and will be required to pass the state of New Hampshire’s boat license exam.
“We get to teach everyone a new skill that either they wouldn’t get the chance to learn anywhere else,” said Wakesports Specialist Madi Wheeler, “or help them improve on what they might have learnt from previous years at camp.” In both cases, the thrill of watching each child get up on their skis or boards never gets old.
Another rewarding aspect of the role is the bond you’ll form with your fellow instructors. “Wakesports is a pretty small team and we spend a lot of time all together away from the rest of camp,” said Wheeler, “so as the weeks go by we become really close and almost become a little family. Every day is great because we are there to make sure everyone is doing okay and being the best version of themselves while we work together.”
