Our full time winter crew at Walt Whitman has been extremely busy since camp ended. Lew Chase, our Maintenance Director, and his team have been working hard to get camp ready for Summer 2013!

The biggest project they have been engaged with has been the tearing down and rebuilding of our Junior Lodge. This cabin was originally built in 1925 long before Camp Walt Whitman was established.

With a giant deck overlooking the lake, the cabin has always been a camper favorite. However, due to the age of the building, it was time to rebuild it, although we kept the same design while adding some modern amenities.

We know that this year's Junior Campers are going to love their new building!
