1-Week Pioneer Camp

Why is Pioneer Camp Important?

Choosing the right camp for your child is not an easy task. Pioneer Camp at Walt Whitman provides a wonderful first step towards making the transition from day camp to sleep away camp. At Pioneer Camp, your child will have the opportunity to experience Camp Walt Whitman first hand. Your child will enjoy swimming in our lake and playing on our sports fields. Pioneers will be offered the challenge of the climbing wall and will engage in what the arts, ceramics and woodshop have to offer.

The seven-day program provides our future campers with an extra level of comfort as they will have already been introduced to the daily routine and to the physical lay-out of camp. This acclimation eases the transition into camp for both children and their parents.
